The countdown has begun, and I will be leaving for law school in just one week. I am excited and a bit nervous as this will be the first time I have ever lived more than twenty minutes from home. Most of my life has been packed and awaits the first drive up to my on-campus apartment. My friend Dailey and I will make the trek on Tuesday. The weather is supposed to cool down to a nice 94 that day (I'm feeling better and better about not moving to the humid east coast).
I continue to read books about what to expect during my first year of law school. I can't tell whether it is making me more relaxed or more anxious. The latest book I'm reading gave a long list of ways to shorten my work load and then went on to show how my work days would be around 15 hours. Shorter than what, I wonder. I also learned I will have to start fighting for summer employment as early as November 1st, right when I am also supposed to be feeling extremely panicky about my first set of exams in December. Am I crazy to be doing this? I may well be, but I also know I have the advantage of having worked to the past five years. I am confident that nothing will ever be harder than my first year of teaching, so I ought to be OK. It's really no wonder that lawyers are known for being crazy though, given what they have to endure in school. So I am setting some moderate goals for myself as I begin. First, I want to stay in the top third of the class so I can keep my scholarship. Second, I want to remain happy in the process. Third...nothing. That's it.
Until next time...

Good Luck
This is Susan from your 6/7 core class, wishing you good luck in starting law school. Cor, with what you're taking on, it makes our petty anxieties regarding highschool sound like whining nonsense. So it goes, though, challenges progress with life... I'm sure you'll have a great time and do really well, because you're awesome and you can. I look forward to hearing more about your adventures in law school.Anonymous

Echoing what everyone else says, particularly Susan's comment about petty anxieties and whining nonsense, both of which you are sure to find plentiful in my journal. Anyhow, good luck to you, and I'll be sending more good vibes along to make a little neat matching set with Bonnie's.
